During this edition of the award Prix Villegiature 2022 took place at the Residence of the Embassy of Mexico in the city of Paris, France the national winners were announced, two magnificent national hotels were awarded in a ceremony presided over by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to France and before the Principality of Monaco, the Hon. Mrs. Blanco E. Jimenez Cisneros.
The holder of Art Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) pointed out that these awards are given to the best hotels in the world and are divided into 20 categories, in addition to the fact that 11 Mexican hotels have been nominated in several of them, making it the second country with the most nominations after France, and although it is the first time that our country fought for these awards, it turned out to be the winner in two these categories.
In which categories did Mexico win at Prix Villégiature 2022?
The hotels that received their award at this ceremony were included in the “Best Art Universe” category, where the participation of the Azulik Tulum Hotel stood out; and the Sofitel hotel in Mexico City was awarded in the nomination “Best Interior Design and Architecture”. It should be noted that most of the nominated Mexican hotels were offered Embassy of Mexico in Franceall from Sectur’s “Treasures of Mexico” premium travel program.
The main objective of the program is to promote excellence in hotels and restaurants with a high level of service, outstanding architectural features, good gastronomy and several other elements that reflect and promote the richness of Mexican culture among travelers of various nationalities who come to the country to enjoy a vacation full of luxury.
The jury for this edition of the Prix Villégiature 2022 consisted of 22 journalists from around the world, high-end tourism professionals, and the award ceremony was attended by top executives who own the best hotels in the world, as well as the full jury and some members of the diplomatic corps, in addition to journalists, businessmen and artists.
What were the nominees?
Hotels in Mexico were nominated in eight categories, with participants including: Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato in the Best Hotel category; Hacienda de San Antonio, in Camal, Calima as the best resort; Sofitel Reforma, Mexico City; Hotel Purifikatar in the village Puebla and Hotel Boutique 1850 in Guanajuato with the best design and architecture; Live Aqua Urban Resort San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato for Best Hotel Pool; Hotel Santa Rita Zacatecas and Azulik Tulum for the best hotel artistic universe; Hotel Molino de los Reyes in Tlaxcal for the best breakfast; Grand at Moon Palace in Cancun for Best Hotel for Kids and Casa del Alma Hotel Boutique & Spa, San Cristobal de las Casas for great creativity in the hotel.
The Minister of Tourism noted the excellent work done Embassy of Mexico in France as part of its commitment to promote tourism in our country abroad, with actions reflected in the arrival of more foreign tourists to this country with a high level of spending on your vacationwho seek to enjoy the wide cultural and luxury tourism offer in the various spaces of Mexico.
