Mexico is lucky to be nominated for the Prix Villégiature Awards 2022 in different categories with 11 hotels from different countries
Mexico stands out for being one of the top tourist destinations. Now, thanks to the Prix Villégiature 2022, it has positioned itself as one of the countries with the best hotels in the world.
“Prix Villégiature is awarded to the best hotels in the world. Mexico is fortunate to be nominated with 11 hotels in 20 categories,” explained Miguel Toruca Márquez, head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur).
For this reason, the country was the second most nominated after France. However, it is important to emphasize that Mexico competed for this recognition for the first time.
Despite being a beginner the country managed to get two recognitions, the first for Hotel Azulik in Tulum, in the category “Best Art Universe”. The second recognition was for the Sofitel hotel in Mexico City, awarded for the best interior design and architecture.
The excellent participation of the hotel sector in Mexico is related to the program Treasures of Mexico, based on Sectur. A program aimed at promoting excellence in hotels and restaurants.
First class hotels
Construction of first-class hotels, led Mexico to international tourism recognition. Therefore, the Embassy of Mexico in France had the opportunity to observe the busy work of the hotel sector in different cities of the country.
